All the other WordPress audio players were crappy or ugly so I made a better one.
WPaudio is deprecated because browsers now offer good native audio playback.
Deactivate that lame Flash player and install a plugin that makes you proud to embed mp3s. WPaudio installs in seconds, looks great, and is easy to use.
You can convert all mp3 links, just the ones you specify, or you can use tags with advanced download options. Customize font, size, and colors right from WordPress.
Either way, remember to activate WPaudio on the Plugins page and check out the options in Settings » WPaudio.
Convert all mp3 links
To turn every mp3 link on your blog into a player, select Convert all mp3 links in the WPaudio settings.
Convert some mp3 links
For any mp3 link you'd like to convert to a player, add the wpaudio
class like this:<a href="http://url" class="wpaudio">Artist - Song</a>
Advanced options
Use WPaudio shortcodes for download options. To disable downloads, use dl="0"
. To prevent downloads from your server but use a download URL (e.g. from a service like Mediafire or YouSendIt), use dl="http://download-url"
.[wpaudio url="http://url" text="Artist - Song" dl="0"]
Easy to install, easy to use
Install directly from WordPress and convert your mp3 links immediately. Just select the option and let WPaudio do the rest.
Compatible with your old audio player tags
Want to switch to a better player? Just deactivate your old plugin and let WPaudio give your old posts the dignity they deserve. WPaudio is compatible with Audio Player tags (and if you want support for others, just ask).
Clean design with intuitive controls
Everything's tucked out of the way until you click play. Jog the track by clicking the position bar. Download by clicking the title. Simple.
Won't slow down your site
WPaudio was written for performance. It uses the WordPress's built-in scripts and the lightweight SoundManager2 library.
Degrades gracefully
To RSS, search engines, and people without JavaScript, every WPaudio player is just a link. WPaudio preserves your blog's accessibility.
